The Hammersmith flyover westbound will be shut all weekend and completely both ways for nearly 12 hours this weekend.

Drivers planning to make their way through Hammersmith on Sunday night (July 19) should plan an alternative route in advance to avoid congestion.

Transport for London announced that the flyover will be shut from 6pm on Sunday through to 5am on Monday (July 20).

Closure of the A4 Hammersmith Flyover westbound caused tailbacks towards Warwick Road and queues northbound from Cheyne Walk on Saturday (July 18).

This weekend's closure is part of the final phase of the restrengthening of the Hammersmith Flyover which will see the bridge being closed or partially closed for four weekends in July and August for the final major piece of work to be carried out.
