Met Police confirmed a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a bus.

The A219 Queen Caroline Street (Hammersmith Gyratory) is closed following the incident at A315 King Street.

Several ambulances and police vehicles are at the scene, according to getwestlondon's traffic reporting system.

A section of the road has been cordoned off between Subway and Hammersmith underground station.

Traffic is being diverted on to A315 King Street.

Met Police has confirmed that the victim was a 78-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Here is a traffic and travel update following the tragic incident.

  • A219 Queen Caroline Street (Hammersmith Gyratory) remains closed
  • There is congestion on A306 Castelnau to Red Lion Traffic Lights (Barnes) and on A4 to Hogarth Roundabout (Chiswick).
  • This is also affecting A315 Beadon Road in both directions between Glenthorne Road and Hammersmith Gyratory
  • The road remains cordoned off between Subway and Hammersmith underground station.
  • Beadon Road is closed, as is Hammersmith Flyover Eastbound exit slip towards the Gyratory.
  • Traffic diverted on to A315 King Street.

Police confirm woman has been killed

A Met Police spokesman has confirmed that a woman has died as a result of the collision.

Traffic update

Hammersmith Gyratory is closed and there is queuing traffic due to the serious incident at A315 King Street.

Congestion is on A306 Castelnau to Newport Road and on A315 Studland Street to B408 Glenthorne Road / Studland Street.

Traffic is being diverted on to A315 King Street.

Several ambulances and police vehicles are on scene.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called on Sunday, October 8, at 5pm to Hammersmith Broadway to a report of a bus in collision with a pedestrian.
“The emergency services are on scene.
“The pedestrian, a woman (no further details) is currently being treated by paramedics at the scene.
“We await an update.”
