Emergency services were called to the incident at around 5pm on Sunday (October 8).
A Metropolitan Police spokesman told Get West London : "Police were called on Sunday, October 8, at 5pm to Hammersmith Broadway to a report of a bus in collision with a pedestrian.
"The emergency services are on scene.
"The pedestrian, a woman is currently being treated by paramedics at the scene.
"We await an update."
It was later confirmed that the woman has died.
Footage taken by eyewitness, Oussama Kardi shows a helicopter circling the scene moments after the collision happened.
He said: "There was a serious collision, a pedestrian was struck by a bus at the Hammersmith Broadway crossing.
"Huge emergency service presence so best avoid the Broadway area."
Images taken by pedestrians show crowds gathered around a bus with part of the road has been cordoned off.
Hammersmith Gyratory is closed and there is queuing traffic in nearby roads including King Street, Newport Road, Studland Street and Glenthorne Road.
The section of road has been cordoned off between Subway and Hammersmith underground station.
