The service will be attended by Council leader, Councillor Julian Bell and deputy mayor, Councillor Patricia Walker.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “I never fail to be struck by the stories I’ve heard and read about the people from our borough who served in the wars and those who lost their lives; it brings the reality of those events to the front of your mind.

"Our memorials are much more than just a list on a block of stone. They are a lasting reminder of the human face of war and the sacrifices made.”

There will also be a parade from Manor Park through Southall on the way to the Southall War Memorial on The Green for a service at 11am.

And a two minute silence will also be held on the steps of Ealing Town Hall to mark Armistice Day from 11am on Wednesday (November 11).
