Time is running out for organisations and individuals who wish to have a major say in the Grenfell Tower public inquiry .

Applications to be a core participant must be made before midnight on Friday (September 8).

Those granted core participant status will be able to take an active role in the inquiry process and help shape its direction.

The inquiry team has already said chairman Sir Martin Moore-Bick is willing to grant core participant status to survivors, all individuals who were residents the tower at the time of the fire and the families of those who died or were injured and as a result are unable to participate.

According to Justice4Grenfell, core participants have access to public evidence, can make opening and closing statements, suggest lines of questioning and apply to the panel to ask questions of witnesses during a hearing.

Applications must be emailed to solicitor@grenfelltowerinquiry.org.uk before middnight.
