Sky Sports new reporter Mark White has caused a social media uproar after making a joke to a young boy rescued from the Grenfell tower block fire live on television.

When interviewing the boy, the reporter suggested on the "plus side" he would miss school.

Mr White followed his question of asking the boy how he had fled from the building with: "So no school for you today then, it has a plus side I guess."

Despite the boy responding in an upbeat manner, the comment made by the reporter certainly left a bitter taste in viewers mouths, taking to social media to express their views.

Another social user, Harriet Shaw, tweeted: "As if that Sky News reporter said that comment about getting a day of school to that young boy though..so insensitive"
