In a truly bittersweet show of solidarity west Londoners and beyond have shown their support for all those affected by the tragic Grenfell Tower fire.

Getwestlondon launched a fundraising appeal on Wednesday (June 14) just hours after an intense fire raged through the North Kensington block, taking lives with it - 17 people have so far been confirmed dead.

Originally, we asked our readers to see if we could raise £5,000 to help the survivors and those affected - a small gesture to show them hope in their darkest hour.

Within seven and-a-half hours that target was met and by 3pm on Thursday (June 15), more than £20,000 had been pledged by more than 900 supporters.

And the donations keep pouring in.

No matter how big or small, whether £1 or £100, every pound will make a difference to people who have lost everything.

We've now raised our target to £25,000 and if we meet it, we'll raise it again, and again, and again.

Thank you so much for your donations, we know the people affected by this heartbreaking tragedy will be so grateful.
