Grenfell Tower fire: BBC to make documentary on the west London disaster

It will be directed by Ben Anthony, who made a documentary about the 7/7 bombings

The BBC is making a documentary on the Grenfell Tower disaster .

The corporation revealed at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Thursday (August 24) that it as one of a series of factual shows it has commissioned.

Simply titled Grenfell, the film will be directed by Ben Anthony, who previously made a 2012 documentary about the 7/7 bombings.

The BBC also announced a film on the Stephen Lawrence murder will be directed by University of Westminster graduate Asif Kapadia, who won a Best Documentary Feature Oscar in 2016 for Amy , which told the story of the late singer songwriter Amy Winehouse.

The ITV three-part documentary Inside London Fire Brigade heard from firefighters who helped battle the blaze at Grenfell Tower , which claimed the lives of around 80 people.
