A man is in a life-threatening condition following a crash in Greenford on Saturday (May 27).

Metropolitan Police has launched an appeal following the collision in Whitton Avenue East around 4.05pm.

Police were called to reports of a white Volkswagen van in collision with a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found the pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 20s, injured.

He was taken to a north London hospital and the police described his injuries as "life-threatening".

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "The driver of the van stopped at the scene. He was not arrested .

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating.

Enquiries continue into the full circumstances of the collision."
