The A40 has been closed in one direction near Greenford after a collision involving an overturned vehicle and drivers are being encouraged to avoid the area where possible.
Pictures have emerged of a car on it's roof and traffic has been blocked from travelling eastbound on the A40 near Greenford.
Traffic is also moving slow in the opposite direction due to 'onlookers' according to Transport for London.
News of the collision surfaced at about 1.30pm and it is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
There are tailbacks on the A40 to the Target Underpass and traffic is being diverted off the slip road.
Congestion has built up to the A4180 West End Road.
Ealing police tweeted at around 1.40pm: "The A40 eastbound into London is closed from Greenford roundabout, please avoid."

Car collided with a bollard and flipped
The crash is believed to have occurred when a car collided with a bollard on the A40 and overturned.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called on Wednesday, September 14 shortly before 1.30pm to a report of a collision on the A40, Greenford.
“A car was found to have collided with a bollard and overturned.”
Traffic now easing
Traffic is now believed to be easing around Greenford following the earlier crash.
Congestion still looks bad on the A4127 Greenford Road and Church Road leading to Target Roundabout.
But the A40 looks much clearer.
Condition of man in car unknown
Police have released a statement on the crash to say that a male was removed from the vehicle but his condition is currently unknown.
Officers remain on the scene according to the police.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A male was removed from the vehicle. We await an update on his condition.
“Officers attended and the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service were also called.
“Officers remain on scene.”
TFL say road now open
The A40 is now cleared and reopen according to Transport for London, but traffic remains bad.

Traffic appears to be improving
Congestion around Greenford appears to have improved slightly according to Google Maps and there are reports that the road has reopened eastbound.

Hillingdon buses stopped
Oxford Bus Company has tweeted to say the incident is ongoing and that Hillingdon buses are unable to run due to the collision

Ealing police first mentioned the crash in a tweet at around 1.30pm.
They encouraged drivers to avoid the area if possible.
