Summer is finally upon us and British families will soon be relaxing on beaches across the world.

Yet, it's fair to say that the post-beach experience can be anything but calm if you have a little one that hates sand.

If that sounds all too familiar, then take a look at these handy holiday hacks, as reported by Manchester Evening News , which may just come in use.

One handy tip could save you a sandy mess in your car

It turns out you can solve all sandy feet problems by bringing along a tub of talcum powder on your summer holidays.

When the kids have sand stuck all over their damp legs, just rub a bit of talc over them and sand simply falls away.

Failing that, another popular solution is bringing a small inflatable pool or dinghy to the beach, which your little one could use to splash around in on the sand.

The water will warm up and they can have fun with a few toys right next to your towels or sunbeds.

Another handy tip for beach-goers is bringing a fitted sheet along with them to the beach and filling the sides with something to weigh each of them down, such as a cool box.

Once secured, the bed sheet will create a large sand-free space for the children to play in.

If sand does not faze your children, then perhaps summer stresses come from sticky fingers after an ice cream.

Well, one mum has an ingenious tip for solving the melting ice cream dilemma.

Nicole Wood, from Ashton, poked a hole in her two-year-old son's ice cream tub and then put the ice cream lolly stick through it.

“I feel like a genius!! Poked a hole in an ice cream tub and stuck Edward’s ice cream stick through it,” the mum-of-one told Manchester Evening News.

“Saved us from the dripping mess!!!”

Finally, if you're worrying what to do with your money while you take the kids in the sea then do not fear.

One handy tip is that you could roll it up and put it inside an empty lip balm tube.

Another one is stashing your sash inside a unused nappy and then fold the nappy up as though it's been used.
