Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood will be putting his own skills to the test after he announced he will be opening a new bakery in London.

The critical co-judge, who decided to move to Channel 4 in a controversial move after the show left the BBC, has struck a deal with a firm for the new bakery.

Hollywood, who will already be doubling his dough after accepting the Channel 4 contract, is looking to create a chain called Knead.

Teaming up with SSP group, who have outlets at airports and rail stations, the television star will be designing chocolate tarts and sausage rolls which can be purchased by the inch by Londoners on the move who want bite sized food.

In an annual report for SSP, group boss Kate Swann said: "We continue to work with high profile chefs across the globe and have secured an agreement with Paul Hollywood to open a new bakery concept in the UK rail business during 2017."

It is not the first Great British Bake Off announcement about potentially new bakeries opening, after much loved contestant Selasi Gbormittah admitted he wants to open a bakery in west London, delighting fans .

Bake Off fans were equally pleased to hear the show will have a Christmas special on the BBC before it moves across to Channel 4 in 2017.
