A school in Fulham is gearing up for its centenary celebrations.

Lady Margaret School will celebrate its 100th birthday on September 29 this year, and is hosting a series of events to mark the landmark throughout its 2017-18 academic year.

The school, in Parsons Green, is now appealing to Lady Margaret alumnae to get in touch and join in the celebrations.

A series of events have already been planned, with a birthday party taking place at the school on September 30, which will look at how the school was and how it is now, and is open to the community.

A Thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey on October 17 and a production of Noye’s Fludde at Cadogan Hall, Chelsea on March 11 is also planned, with more events yet to be announced.

Headteacher Elisabeth Stevenson said: “We are very excited about the year ahead: our centenary will give us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all that is special about Lady Margaret School, to welcome back former students and to consider our plans for the future”.

Fundraising activities will also take place during the year to create legacies for future generations, with £80,000 needed for the completion of a centenary garden, which will provide space and tranquillity for pupils and the community alike.

The school also plans to invite 100 women to meet and inspire its pupils, and is committed to carrying out 100 acts of kindness during Lent in 2018.
