A giant screen flashing images of the most wanted suspects in Hounslow has been making its way around the borough.

Police in Hounslow launched operation Etherow on Thursday (August 11) to get help from the public to tackle the number of outstanding wanted offenders as well as to identify suspects in connection with a crime.

As part of the unusual two-day operation, huge mugshots of suspects have been plastered across the gigantic mobile screen making it hard for shoppers to miss.

Officers were in Hounslow outside ASDA on Thursday, where the mobile unit display was set up in the hope of attracting attention from hundreds of supermarket shoppers and passer-bys.

On Friday (August 12), the screen has moved to the High Street in Feltham outside Subway sandwich shop, where it will remain until 6pm tonight.

People are encouraged to go down and have a look at the images and inform the officers on duty or call Crimestoppers anonymously if they recognise any of the suspects.

Hounslow DI Helen Flanagan said: “We have been running this campaign across Hounslow and Feltham for two days to identify Hounslow's most wanted offenders.

“It is designed to catch people's eye and encourage information from the public.

“There are officers there all day so I would encourage people to come down and have look, if anyone recognises these people they can tell an officer directly or contact Crimestoppers with any information they think might be relevant.

“We are asking the public to help us find these people who have avoided facing up to their crimes.”

If you recognise a wanted suspect call CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111 or alternatively 101.
