All three Labour candidates in Ealing held their seats and boosted their majorities at the General Election.

Labour's Rupa Huq was re-elected Ealing Central and Acton MP, boosting her majority with 33,037 votes up from 22,002 in 2015.

She beat Tory rival Joy Morrissey who had 19,230 votes, and Lib Dem's Jon Ball with 3,075.

Dr Huq said after her victory: "The democratic will of the people has prevailed.

"They called this a Brexit election, and they are saying that such are these extraordinary results for Labour across London, is a revenge of the remainers.

"I don't know what exactly it was that won it.

"We fought this on the hospital cuts, we fought this on the schools cuts and whatever it was it just shows how ill-judged this election was."

Labour's Virendra Sharma was re-elected MP for Ealing Southall with 31,720 votes, ahead of Tory Fabio Conti (9,630), Lib Dem Nigel Bakhai (1,892), Green's Peter Ward (1,037), UKIP's John Poynton (504) and the Workers Revolutionary Party's Arjinder Thiara (392).

Mr Sharma, who has held his seat since 2007, boosted his majority from the 28,147 he received in 2015.

He told Getwestlondon : "It's a great, great feeling.

"And the confidence in me placed by the local constituents, the people of Ealing Southall, the trust I won back is great news."

Labour's Stephen Pound was re-elected to Ealing North with 34,635 votes.

He finished ahead of Tory rival Isobel Grant (14,942), Lib Dem's Humaira Sanders (1,275), UKIP's Peter McIlvenna (921) and the Green's Meena Hans (743).

Mr Pound, who has held the seat since 1997, boosted his majority from the 26,745 he received in 2015.

He said after his victory: "This was a fair, and honest and decent fight.

"This was an unnecessary election, it was an election the country didn't need, it was an election the country didn't want.

"Frankly it's an election the country can't afford.

"I think the prime minister has shown once and for all that you cannot take the British electorate for granted."
