A bank in Uxbridge High Street faces an uncertain future after it was revealed the building's landlord has filed plans to convert the branch into a restaurant or cafe.
NatWest Bank, which is part of The Pavilions Shopping Centre, could be forced to move after a planning application was approved by Hillingdon Council in May.
The application asked the council to change the building from a financial and profession services building to a restaurant and cafe building.
It also included plans to changes to make the building more visible and more accessible.
A spokesperson for NatWest told getwestlondon : “We're aware of the plans submitted by our landlord.
“We're monitoring the situation closely and exploring all plans to maintain a presence within the local area.”
The application was submitted to Hillingdon Council by LaSalle Investment Management on behalf of MPTL.
A statement from the applicants said: “The proposal will add to the vitality of the town centre, provide a much needed catering resource just a step from the station and encourage pedestrians trips between Windsor Street and High Street.”
It is unclear when NatWest could move from the site or if there are any businesses lined up to move in.
getwestlondon has approached the applicants for comment.
