A fundraising page , set up for the family of a Feltham runner, who died after collapsing just metres away from the finishing line of 10km run in Surrey , has surpassed its original £5,000 target.
Czeslaw Dudek, 37, a married father-of-one from Hounslow , received emergency medical treatment, but was pronounced dead on his arrival to hospital on Sunday morning (March 5).
It is understood that Mr Dudek's wife Sylwia and their seven-year-old daughter were cheering him on at the race in Weybridge, Surrey.
The page, created 18 hours ago by friend Ilo Bienkowska, in support of Mr Dudek's family, has currently reached £6,355, with an altered target of £10,000.
A total of 254 people have donated and the page has been shared almost 1,000 times.
Condolences have been pouring in via the online fundraising page from those who know the family and also by those who do not.
