It's always a busy time for Metropolitan Police officers but they have made it very clear that their furry friends are just as important.

Hammersmith and Fulham officers were pawsitively in love after they found a dog weaving in and out of traffic in Westway.

After bringing it under their wing, making sure it's had water and rest, they're still looking for owners to come forward for this beautiful canine.

Inspector Richard Berns wrote on social media: "We found this dog running in and out of traffic on the Westway.

"She is safe now but Insector Gorse wants to take her home. Is she yours?"

He added: "We are looking for the owner but have no leads...Found going in and out of traffic.

"Thirsty, but we are looking after her."

The lost dog roaming around west London has now been given to Battersea Dog and Cats home whilst the search for their owners continues.

Although it's a ruff ride on the streets, Fulham officers have made sure it got the love it needs before putting their new friend in safe hands.

The force later tweeted: "Really touched by all the retweets today for our furry friend.

"As police we have a lot to focus on but animal welfare means a lot to us."
