A Wembley based charity has announced a massive donation thanks to national food chain, Frankie and Benny's.

CEO of The Restaurant Group, Danny Breithaupt, and Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine children’s Charity met for a Christmas breakfast this month with some very special VIPs to celebrate Frankie & Benny’s raising a total of £344,344 for the charity.

Frankie & Benny’s launched its official national charity partnership with Rays of Sunshine; a children’s charity which grants wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, aged three to 18, in January, pledging to raise £250,000 for the year.

Last week, Frankie & Benny’s revealed they had smashed their target by almost £100,000.

The relationship sees The Restaurant Group work closely with Rays of Sunshine up and down the country to brighten up the lives of brave and deserving children like 9-year-old Tia who was diagnosed with heart disease at the age of just three years old and after 10 months on a Berlin Heart, had a heart transplant.

Other VIPs at the Christmas breakfast included 13-year-old Sophie, who is currently living with Hypermobility Syndrome, seven-year-old Roshan, who is currently living with a congenital heart condition, and 20-year-old Hannah who is currently living with a heart defect.

All children fulfilling their wishes with Rays of Sunshine during 2015 received a VIP Frankie & Benny’s Sunshine card entitling them to a free child’s meal every time they visit a restaurant.

Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine said: “Wish families, staff and customers have all embraced our fantastic partnership with Frankie & Benny’s, which the final fundraising total of £344,344 for 2015 really demonstrates!

“On behalf of all of the children that Frankie & Benny’s have made magical wishes come true for this year, thank you.”
