A shocked woman who found a fox in her bed called Metropolitan Police officers to her home over fears it would harm her.

Brent Police made their way to the property on Campden Crescent in Wembley on Tuesday (June 15) night after the woman called to say she was too afraid to approach the animal.

Capturing the little creature sat upright on the bed, police officers tweeted: "Officers provided assistance when Brent resident had an unexpected guest."

A spokesperson for the borough police said: "The fox did not appear injured and was released back outside.

"It's not something we would attend normally but officers were nearby and offered assistance.

"It was a frightened animal and no cause for concern to the public."

In another animal-related incident this month, police were forced to seal off a road in Fulham after hundreds of bees swarmed on a bike .

Also in Fulham, firefighters came to the rescue of two cats stranded in a house fire last month.
