Four people who were rescued from a house fire in Locket Road in Harrow on Tuesday (August 2) are currently in a critical condition in hospital.

One 26-year-old woman and three children were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) suffering from smoke inhalation, with their conditions being described as critical but stable.

Police are currently making enquiries to establish the cause of the fire, which at this moment in time remains a mystery.

Four fire engines were sent to the property at around 10.24 after receiving reports that the ground floor of a semi-detached house was alight.

The blaze was eventually put out by 21 firefighters from Stanmore , Northolt and Harrow fire stations, who were using breathing apparatus.

There were also road closures in place for some time on the road, with Transport for London diverting the 186 bus.
