Three men and a woman have been charged following a series of raids targeting gangs believed to be running brothels in Hounslow and Hillingdon.

Officers arrested seven people, closed down a suspected brothel in Hounslow and found weapons and tens of thousands of pounds thought to be the illegal proceeds of prostitution during late night raids in the two boroughs on March 30.

Four people appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (April 1) charged with various offences.

The defendants, all of whom were remanded in custody to return on April 20, are:

  • Onudinald Boca and Mihai Hotnogu, both aged 35 and of Hayre Drive, Southall, are each charged with two counts of running a brothel, one of possessing criminal property and one of having a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas
  • Marina Hotnogu, also 35 and of Hayre Drive, Southall, is charged with possessing criminal property and having a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas
  • Sandel Lupu, 32, of Heston Road, Hounslow, is charged with two counts of running a brothel, one of possessing criminal property and one of having a stun gun

Two other men and a woman who were also arrested have been bailed to appear at a west London police station in late May, pending further enquiries.
