Fire crews remain at the scene of a blaze inside a derelict building on Hounslow Heath.

The London Fire Brigade were called to the scene at 3.09pm, with four fire engines and 21 firefighters attending from Feltham and Tooting fire stations and Surrey Fire and Rescue.

The fire is inside a single storey disused garden centre and no one is believed to be injured or involved.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: "A 100m hazard zone was put in place as a precaution while crews cooled a cylinder which was involved in the fire.

"Sometimes cylinders can explode if exposed to heat."

Posting on Twitter, Aaron Linstead shared a picture of the fire, saying: "Fire in derelict building in #Hounslow - can smell it everywhere in the area!"

He also said the fire is "where they have the car boot next to Hounslow Heath".

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
