Crowds turned out in their hundreds to watch a star-studded F1 show in London.

Lewis Hamilton, who is looking for a fourth consecutive win at Silverstone on Sunday (July 16), missed the event as he was having a two day break.

For the younger fans there was a Schools and Innovation Showcase in Trafalgar Square from 12pm to 4pm.
Sadiq Khan tweeted: "Great to join Jenson Button & cheer on young Londoners learning about engineering & taking part in an F1 Pit stop challenge."
Sean Bratches, managing director of commercial operations at Formula 1, said prior to the event: “F1 Live London is the most striking example yet of Formula 1’s evolution this year.
"We feel there is no better way to celebrate the exciting season we have had so far than to have this landmark event in London on the eve of the British Grand Prix.
"This is all about giving our fans the opportunity to get closer to the teams, cars and drivers they love."
