Football fans accused of violence in the wake of Brentford FC's defeat by Watford last autumn are due to stand trial in October.

Seven men were charged with affray following a fight which allegedly broke out in Watford High Street after the Bees lost 2-1 to their Championship rivals on September 30 last year.

They appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday (February 27), where all but one of the defendants denied the charge. They were bailed to return for trial on October 12.

Harry Mansbridge, 19, of First Avenue, Watford, admitted affray and is due to be sentenced upon completion of the trial.

Three of those charged are from the borough of Hounslow, including a 17-year-old from Isleworth, and a fourth is from Acton. The other three are from Watford or the surrounding area.
