A flytipper caught red-handed illegally dumping rubbish twice has landed a hefty fine.

CCTV cameras picked up a man emptying cardboard boxes at the back of the High Street in Hounslow in October and November last year.

The same person was caught leaving the High Street in a vehicle traced back to a lease company.

The man from Hackney has been fined £800 in total after Hounslow's council enforcement officers served two fixed penalty notices of £400 each for flytipping.

The company was served with a notice to provide the person's details at the time of the alleged offence which resulted in identifying the perpetrator.

He was then served two FPNs.

Councillor Hanif Khan

Councillor Hanif Khan, cabinet member for community protection and enforcement at Hounslow Council, said: “We will continue to come down strong on those who think they can just dump rubbish in our streets and get away with it.

“It doesn’t matter whether you are a resident or not, we won’t stand for it and we will track down those who are responsible.

"Fly-tipping is an anti-social behaviour that is blighting the lives of our residents and is also costly to the council to clear up.

“The fines represent the fact that we will take the strongest action possible to erase this problem. But we also need the help of our residents to report fly-tipping, if you see someone dumping rubbish around our borough, let us know.”

Anyone with evidence of flytipping in their area should contact Hounslow Council and provide information including a description of the person, vehicle details, plus the time and date of the incident.
