A flood alert has been issued by the Environment Agency which could affect homes and businesses in West London.

Tide levels are expected to rise between Putney Bridge and Teddington Weir and people are being warned to be prepared for the chance of flooding in boroughs including Hounslow, Richmond and Wandsworth.

The locations potentially affected by flooding are Putney Embankment, Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green, Thames Bank at Mortlake, Ranelagh Drive in Twickenham, Friars Lane and Water Lane in Richmond, Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham and the Towpath below Teddington Lock.

The alert was issued at 8.25am on Thursday (February 19).
