Five people arrested in west London and Surrey in connection to a shooting in Hammersmith have been released while inquiries continue.

Officers say the four men and one woman were released under investigation, after a man was seriously injured on April 15.

Emergency services were called to Albion Mews at 11.10pm, where paramedics found a man in his mid-20s with gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Armed police officers in Goldsworth Road

A 46-year-old woman and three men, aged 51, 49 and 20 years, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender when officers carried out a search warrant at an address in Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith on April 19.

A 29-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender the following day (April 20) in Goldsworth Road, Woking, with video footage showing armed police patrolling the road.

The operation in Goldsworth Road took place at around 5pm, concentrated between Oak’s Road and Vale Farm Road in Woking.

An eyewitness said pedestrians were told they should not enter the area “for their own safety”.

Officers from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating.
