The UK's first ever cannabis pharmacy is set to open its doors to the public this week but anyone expecting to get high is in for a disappointment.

Carun UK, opening in Twickenham, is offering a range of health and beauty products using the "healing powers" of hemp which the group claim helps humans recover.

Michal Takac, Carun’s UK managing director, said: "These support our immune system; restore the balance and health of cells as well as possessing anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibiotic properties."

But those people hoping to be able to buy something that makes them light-headed are bound to be upset after bosses revealed none of the products contain enough "high chemicals".

Unlike marijuana, which has a THC level of up to 30% (the psychoactive chemical that makes you high), Carun products only contain around 0.3%.

Mr Takac said: "But no… they will not and cannot make you high."

Despite that, Carun UK believe they are onto a winner as they are offering hemp treatments for rashes, allergies, psoriasis, eczema, wrinkles, stretch marks and much more.

Carun opens on Friday (May 15).
