This is the first image showing how the the new civic centre proposed for Hounslow would look.

The council 's shiny new seven-storey steel and glass HQ would be built in a car park in Bath Road, close to Hounslow High Street, should it get the go-ahead. Hounslow library would also be incorporated into the new building.

The existing council offices beside Lampton Park would be demolished and replaced with hundreds of homes, with proceeds from the sale of the land used to pay for the new building.

Around 850 homes are believed to be planned for the existing Civic Centre site, in Lampton Road, at least 40% of which developers say would be 'affordable'.

You can learn more about the initial proposals for both sites when they go on show at Hounslow Civic Centre, in Lampton Road, Hounslow, next week.

Bouygues Development and Notting Hill Housing, who were appointed by the council to develop the Lampton Road site, are keen to get public feedback before a planning application is submitted for either project.

How homes on the current civic centre site, in Lampton Road, Hounslow, would look, according to developers

The council has previously suggested construction of the new civic centre could begin next summer, subject to planning approval, and would take around two years to complete. The existing civic centre could then be demolished and work could get underway on new homes there.

* A public exhibition about proposals for both sites will be held at Hounslow Civic Centre on Thursday, November 5, from 9am-9pm, and Friday, November 6, from 9am to 5pm. The plans will also be available to view at the Treaty Centre (outside Debenhams), in High Street, Hounslow, on Saturday, November 7, from 10am-4pm. Representatives will be available to answer questions at all three consultation events.
