The final act to perform in the series of concerts being held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea has been announced.

The Chelsea Fireworks Prom featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will kick off the Live at Chelsea concerts taking place over three nights in June at the Grade 1 listed building in Royal Hospital Road.

The world famous orchestra will perform selections from their vast repertoire, including pieces by composers such as Elgar, Brahms, and Puccini, as well as music from closer to home such as The Dam Busters, Jerusalem, and Rule Britannia, on June 17.

And accompanying the music will be a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the home to the famous Chelsea Pensioners.

It marks the start of three consecutive nights of music as part of the Live at Chelsea series. Simply Red were the first act announced back in December . They will be bringing the series to a close when performing on June 19.

And sandwiched in between, Wet Wet Wet will take to the stage on June 18, singing their hits which include Julia Says, Don’t Want To Forgive Me Now, and their hit covers With A Little Help From My Friends and Love Is All Around .

'Another fantastic line-up'

A portion of the ticket sale proceeds from the shows will also go towards funding care for the Chelsea Pensioners who live at The Royal Hospital, as well as helping to fund the ongoing maintenance of the site .

The first Live In Chelsea concerts took place last year and featured the likes of Alison Moyet.

Andy Hickling, MBE from The Royal Chelsea Hospital said: “After a fantastic line up in 2015, we are delighted that we will be welcoming music fans to the Royal Hospital Chelsea again next summer.

"The historic home is one of London’s architectural gems and offers a stunning backdrop to the world-class artists who will be performing."

The gates for the first show open at 5.30pm. The auditorium will open at 7pm with the first act likely to start at 7.30pm.
