This photo shows the damaged caused by flames after a fire ripped though a home in Shepherd’s Bush .

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were needed to tackle the flames in Askew Road, in the early hours of Thursday (October 27) morning.

The brigade was called at 4.14am to the fire at a mid-terraced house.

Firefighters helped five people leave the property, while two others left before the arrival of the emergency services.

Part of the lower ground floor, which is converted into flats, was damaged.

Fire crews from Acton, Hammersmith and Chiswick attended and had the flames under control by 5.18am.

The London Fire Brigade tweeted following the incident saying: "Thankfully no reports of any injuries."

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
