Around 30 people were evacuated from a fire at a block of maisonettes in Marylebone.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze, in Salisbury Street, on Thursday morning (June 25), but a three-roomed maisonette on the first and second floor of the building was badly damaged.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters from Paddington, Euston and Soho fire stations attended the incident.

London Fire Brigade was called just after 4am and a spokesman said the fire was brought under control by 5.10am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
