A festival will mark the Rugby World Cup trophy's visit to Hounslow this September, days before England begin their campaign to stake a more permanent claim on the game's ultimate prize.
The Webb Ellis Cup - named after the sport's founder - will stop off in the borough on September 13, as part of a 100-day tour of the UK and Ireland.
The coveted silverware will be on display at Redlees Park, in Twickenham Road, Isleworth, where a festival will be held to celebrate its visit.
The tournament will kick off down the road at Twickenham Stadium on the evening of September 18, when 2003 winners England host Fiji.
The council and tournament organisers, England Rugby 2015, have organised a meeting this May when Hounslow residents living near the stadium can learn more about the competition.
Those attending will be able to hear about what is being done to minimise disruption during the tournament and what legacy benefits they can expect in the area.
The public meeting will take place at Rugby House, in Whitton Road, Twickenham (TW2 7BA) on Wednesday May 13, at 6.30pm.
More details of the Redlees Park event will be revealed in May and a full list of stops on the trophy's tour will be available at rugbyworldcup.com/trophy-tour.
