A woman in her 70s has died after being hit by a lorry in Kensington this afternoon.

The collision occurred on Earls Court Road at the junction with Cromwell Road, at around 3:30pm.

The collision continues to cause chaos as police remain at the scene. The A4, Cromwell Road (Westbound) between Knaresborough Place and Earl's Court Road- lane one and two (of three) are still closed due to the collision.

Lanes one and two (of three) are closed westbound on Cromwell Road between Knaresborough Place and Earl's Court Road. Slow-moving traffic on approach.

Witnesses said an air ambulance landed at the scene.

Local resident Susan Metwali said: "After hearing all the sirens and commotion I looked out to see that there had been an accident involving a lorry. Police had cleared the way for the air ambulance to land whilst the helicopter circled many times above.

"I watched the medical team running down Earls Court Road to treat the injured after the helicopter had landed on the junction of Cromwell Road."
