Bedfont Lane in Feltham has been closed to traffic following a collision between the A315 Staines Road and A244 Hounslow Road.

The crash was first reported at around 1pm on Wednesday (December 28) and the road was closed in both directions by police.

There have also been reports that a person was lying in the road waiting for an ambulance.

An eyewitness said the collision involved a person using a mobility scooter but this has not yet been confirmed by the emergency services.

“We were called at 12.45pm today to reports of a road traffic collision at Bedfont

Lane, Feltham.
“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.
“We treated a man at the scene for head and chest injuries and took him as a priority to a major trauma centre.“

Here is the full statement from the Metropolitan Police on the crash:

“Police were called shortly before 12:50hrs on 28 December to reports of a car and a mobility scooter in collision on Bedfont Lane, Bedfont.

“Officers attended and LAS took the mobility scooter rider - a man believed aged in his 80s - to hospital. His injuries are being treated as life threatening at this time.
“The driver of the car stopped at the scene.
“There have been no arrests.
“Officers are currently at the scene as enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

Bedfont Lane reopen

Bedfont Lane has now reopened to traffic, around three hours after it was first closed following a collision between a mobility scooter and a car.

The road was reported to have reopened at around 4.20pm.

No arrests

The Met Police say the driver of the car involved in the crash stopped at the scene and no one has been arrested in connection.

Officers were still on the scene at around 3.30pm and enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the collision.

Man treated for head and chest injuries

The pensioner involved in the collision was treated for head and chest injuries at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital.

Man in his 80s suffers life threatening injuries

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a man, believed to be in his 80s, suffered life threatening injuries after a collision between a car and a mobility scooter.

The man has been rushed to hospital after the crash which happened at around 12.50pm.

A councillor for Hounslow Council posted this picture from the scene of the crash on Twitter at around 2.40pm.

Cllr Sam Christie also wanted to give credit to both police and paramedics for their quick response.

Eye witness account

An eye witness has described the scene after the collision at around 1pm.

A person was spotted on the floor covered in blankets and a there was reportedly a mobility scooter nearby.

The witness said: “I was walking past over an hour ago, there was a person lying in the road covered in blankets and there was a black car with part of bumper missing and an empty mobility scooter at the side of the road.

“Perhaps it was a collision between a vehicle and mobility scooter?

“I just walked past as I was gong home and the ambulance was still in attendance and road still closed near to Gulf Petrol station.”
