Comedian Paul Whitehouse was the guest of honour when the Turkish Sunday school his three-year-old daughter Delilah attends hosted its Christmas party on Sunday (December 6).

The Fast Show comedian, also known for his known love of angling and the Aviva adverts, was at the festive fair of Bati Londra Turk Okulu school, based at Sion-Manning Girls’ School , in St Charles Square, north Kensington , where he drew the raffle before giving speech.

His Turkish partner and mother of this daughter, Mine Conkbayir, said: “Paul is British, Welsh really, and I am Turkish. I want Delilah to know that although she was born in this country, a large part of her identity is Turkish - and this school is doing a great job of teaching the children about this.

“We had a lovely day on Sunday. Paul gave a speech about the school and raising our daughter to be bilingual and bicultural.

“There was a really good atmosphere. There was lots of food, drinking, dancing and laughing.”
