Far right political group Britain First has issued a warning to British Muslim politicians saying they will take "direct action" against them - including London's new Mayor Sadiq Khan.

In a newsletter issued to followers, group members urged people to rally alongside them and called for the removal of Muslims in position of authority.

Writing in the emailed letter, leader and former Mayoral candidate Paul Golding, who stood in for London Mayor in May, wrote: "Britain First specialises in militant direct action and has tracked down and confronted numerous hate preachers and terrorists.

"Britain First now considers all Muslim elected officials as 'occupiers' and will start to oppose their strategy of entryism and take-over of our political system."

The party added they will be focusing on aspects of their day-to-day lives, including where they "live, work and pray".

During their London Mayor election campaign, the group said it is their policy to ban Islam from the UK and added in the newsletter they will "not stop until all Islamist occupiers are driven out of politics completely."

Paul Golding turned his back on Sadiq Khan as he gave his speech when Mayoral results were announced in the City Hall chamber

It is not the first time Golding has publicly opposed London's new Mayor.

During Khan's first speech after being elected in City Hall's chamber, Golding turned his back to the Mayor in a controversial move to show his opposition to the appointment.

Other political figures listed by the party included Cabinet Minister Sajid Javid, Mohammed Altaf-Khan who is the current Mayor of Oxford, Hussain Akhtar, Mayor of Blackburn and Shafique Shah, Birmingham's Mayor.

The Mayor of London has been contacted for comment.
