Pixie Lott will bring a touch of showbiz to Uxbridge , by giving fans and fashionistas a chance to bag her clothes.

The pop singer has donated a huge amount of clothes, including tour outfits, dresses from performances and leisure wear, to help raise funds for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).

The celebrity sale comes after intu Uxbridge’s announcement of their 2016 charity partners, choosing to raise funds for CRY, Rainbow Trust and local charity Hillingdon Carers.

The All About Tonight singer said: “I became a patron of CRY as it affects so many young people and it’s crazy that a seemingly fit and young person can just drop down dead.

"I feel it’s so important to raise awareness and will continue to use my role as Patron to help ‘spread the word’ about the charity’s vital work.”

With items ranging from £5 to £50, the shop will be staffed by the CRY team from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 February, who will also be handing out information about the charity and the work it does to prevent young sudden cardiac death.

Every week, at least 12 young (35 and under) apparently fit and healthy people die from a previously undiagnosed heart condition.

Many, but not all, of these young people will have been involved in sport at the time of their death. Sport and physical activity does not cause these undetected problems - but it can significantly exacerbate an existing, undiagnosed condition.

Pixie's personal connection

As well as being an inspiring ambassador for young people, Pixie also has a personal connection to the charity and the issue of young sudden cardiac death.

In 2012, dancer Matt Beadle, who taught her at the Italia Conti School, died suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition, aged just 32.

In 2004, Adam Donnelly, who was a friend of Pixie’s older sister, Charlie, tragically died from a condition known as Brugada syndrome, aged just 17.

Alison Cox MBE, Founder of CRY, said: “Pixie already does so much for us, such as this hugely generous donation of so many beautiful clothes and accessories to be sold in aid of CRY.

“I’m sure that during half term lots of girls will be heading down for some “retail therapy” at intu Uxbridge – which has also just adopted us as their charity of the year – so please do pop in and see us and have a browse through a selection of fantastic clothes, with some added star quality!”

Natasha House, Marketing Manager at intu Uxbridge, says the shopping centre is “honoured” to be working with the fantastic charities throughout 2016 and hopes to raise their profile in the local area.

She said: “Rainbow Trust, CRY and Hillingdon Carers all undertake amazing work in the community, and we are thrilled to be helping them further.”
