Exit poll predicts Conservatives largest party in General Election BUT without overall majority

Voters could be waking to a hung parliament on Friday

We could be looking at a hung parliament according to the 2017 General Election exit poll.

Conservatives are predicted to be the largest party, but will not hold the overall majority.

The Tories are expected to scoop 314 seats with Labour landing 266 spots, SNP 34, Liberal Democrats 14, Plaid Cymru 3, Green Party 1, UKIP 0 and other parties 18.

A majority vote would require more than 326 seats.

In comparison to the 2015 result, Labour are up by 34 seats, Tories down 17, and SNP down 22.

Voters, celebrities and journalists from across the media have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the results - take a look at some of their tweets.
