Police are investigating a robbery after a woman in her 90s had her handbag snatched in Chiswick.

The pensioner was seen by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service at the scene of the crime in Strand-on-the-Green.

However the victim did not have go to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called just before 4.30pm on Sunday (February 19) to reports of a woman robbed of her handbag.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 16.28pm on Sunday, 19 February, to reports of a woman robbed of her handbag in Strand-on-the-Green in Chiswick.

"The victim is a woman, aged in her 90s. She was seen by London Ambulance Service but did not go to hospital."

Officers from Hounslow CID are investigating the incident and as yet no arrests have been made.
