Brent police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was robbed of his late wife's wedding ring in Kingsbury.

On Wednesday July 29, at around 2.15pm, an 85-year-old man who uses a walking frame to get about had been out shopping.

As he was crossing the roundabout, after getting off the bus in Fryent Way, walking towards Salmon street, an Asian woman appeared from behind and assisted him up the kerb with his walking frame.

The woman then put a chunky ring on his finger before putting her arms around his neck and kissing him on the cheek.

When he got home, he noticed his chain, which had his late wife's wedding ring attached, was missing.

Police are appealing for witnesses and any information regarding the robbery.

The woman has been described by police as Asian, around 40 to 45-years-old, of chubby build, 5ft 4ins tall, with black hair. She was wearing a green sari-type dress with leggings.
