Harefield Dogs Trust phoned a friend to help find a home for Warwick, 'the rehoming centre's cleverest dog'.

The call went out to Britain's first ever game show millionaire Judith Keppel, who won the top prize on Who Wants to be a Millionaire in 2000 and is a self-confessed dog lover.

She praised the work of the rehoming centre, saying: "Visiting Dogs Trust Harefield has been a fantastic opportunity for me to witness first-hand the wonderful work the staff at the centre do and I went away thinking that the centre’s four legged residents are such lucky dogs who had fallen on their feet whilst they await loving new homes."

The brainiac, who has been a quiz champion on BBC show Eggheads since 2003 when it began, was treated to a masterful display of tricks which five-month-old Tibetan Terrier Warwick has already mastered.

Ms Keppel, was visibly impressed by this dog and pony show and appealed for prospective pet owners to adopt rescue dogs like Warwick.

The Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and are celebrating their 125 anniversary. IT cares for nearly 17,000 dogs a year across the UK and Ireland in 60 centres.

Last month, the dogs at Harefield Dogs Trust released a video about which spice girl they 'wannabe' adopted by.
