A four-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Edgware.

The child was pronounced dead in hospital following the collision with the vehicle in Montrose Avenue, at the junction with Burnt Oak Broadway, on Wednesday (April 19).

Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 7.15pm.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.

No arrests have been made.

Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives are investigating and anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact police via Alperton Traffic Garage on 0208 991 9555.
