Fifteen people evacuated a hotel in Earls Court after a fire broke out.

They left Earl's Court Gardens Hotel, in Earls Court Gardens, before firefighters arrived, shortly after 11.50pm on Monday (May 18).

Watch manager Matt Wintle, who was at the scene, said: "The lobby area of the hotel was full of smoke when fire crews arrived at the hotel, but firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly brought it under control.

"Fortunately, there were no injuries.”

Crews spent nearly an hour tackling the blaze, managing to confined it to a two-roomed suite on the ground floor, which was partially damaged.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Kensington, Hammersmith and Fulham fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
