Ealing’s parks and open spaces won gold awards for the second year running at the London in Bloom Awards in the large city category on September 15.

The council was given the prestigious gold status for overall impact of horticulture, environmental management and community participation in the borough.

Walpole Park in Ealing was awarded gold in the large park category and the Litten Nature Reserve in Greenford was awarded gold and category winner in the small conservation area award category.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure said: “This is a celebration for the parks team, groups and all the volunteers that help keep the borough’s parks up to such high standards.

“Ealing’s parks are one of the things that make it such a great place to work and live and our ambition to continually improve them has resulted in these fantastic accolades, striking gold again.”
