Ealing Broadway Councillor Alex Stafford has described a stabbing at a McDonald's in the town centre as "senseless violence."

At around 9.30pm on Monday (October 31), a 14-year-old boy was stabbed and a 16-year-old suffered injuries by an alleged masked attacker at the fast food restaurant in The Broadway.

The 14-year-old suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital, while the 16-year-old boy suffered a minor cut to the head, but was not taken to hospital.

Cllr Stafford said he had never known of a stabbing to occur at a business in the centre of Ealing, and was appealing for witnesses to come forward.

He added: "I am appalled and saddened by this senseless violence last night in Ealing.

"Halloween is a time for children and communities to have fun together - but this horrific incident has shocked Ealing to its core.

"We are all praying for the speedy recovery of those injured and I am appealing for all witnesses to come forward, support the police and help take these knives off our streets before anyone else is harmed.

"People need to be able to eat there (McDonald's) without getting attacked.

"It is worrying they have not caught the person.

"We are seeing a spate of stabbings in London and it is very worrying."

Manager of the New Broadway McDonald's, Lambert Lalit, said the incident occurred outside the food chain before he saw a blood-soaked teenager entering the venue.

He added that staff provided first aid before the arrival of London Ambulance Service (LAS).

Witnesses described the attacker as a "hooded male, possibly white, wearing an Oxygen mask or breathing apparatus and green washing up gloves," between 18 and 20-years-old, according to freelance journalist Rory Thomas.

It is also alleged he was also making "sexually inappropriate comments," according to witnesses, although it is not clear who these comments were made to.

The 14-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed in the head and back, although this has not yet been confirmed, resulting in a significant loss of blood, before being wrapped up in bandages.

Enquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made so far, officers added.

A spokesperson for McDonald's added: "This incident did not take place inside our restaurant.

"The pictures show the victim being treated in our store and we are relieved to hear that his injuries are not life threatening.

"We are supporting the police fully in its subsequent investigation, including the provision of our CCTV."
