Firefighters are at the scene of a hotel fire in Ealing.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said in a tweet, at around 11.50am on Tuesday (April 18), it was called to Uxbridge Road.

The tweet reads: "Four fire engines & 20 firefighters are dealing with a hotel fire on Uxbridge Road in Ealing."

Hotel was due to open in June

We have had word back from the hotel’s owner AccorHotels.

The hotel was due to open in June this year.

A spokesperson said: “The fire is being managed by the emergency services, in conjunction with the current owners of the building. The hotel was due to open as an ibisStyles in June this year. We understand that the building was safely evacuated.”

A406 Hanger Lane (North Circular Road) (W5 ) (Northbound) at the junction of Hamilton Road - Road is partially blocked due to a broken down HGV.

What we know about the blaze

Here is everything we know about the fire so far:

Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a hotel under construction on Uxbridge Road in Ealing this morning.

The Brigade’s 999 control officers took around 40 calls about the visible blaze.

The whole of the roof of the eight storey building was alight and part of the plant room. There are no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1130 and the fire was under control by 1325. Fire crews from Ealing, Acton, Southall, Chiswick, Park Royal, Wembley and surrounding fire stations are attending the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Uxbridge Road was expected to be closed for 12 hours but has already reopened.

There is some congestion on the Uxbridge Road leading into rush hour after the fire earlier in the day. The road is now open to traffic as well.

Still no reports of injuries

LFB are still not reporting any injuries after the fire at the hotel today.

A statement from the brigade said: “The Brigade’s 999 control officers took around 40 calls about the visible blaze.

“The whole of the roof of the eight storey building was alight and part of the plant room.

“There are no reports of any injuries.”

Video shows slow moving traffic in the area

According to Transport for London (TfL), westbound traffic on Uxbridge Road is queuing back beyond the A406 Hanger Lane.

Eastbound traffic on Uxbridge Road is slow moving back to Northfield Avenue.

TfL is warning motorists to expect delays.
