The developers behind Ealing Filmworks have proposed changes to their planning permission in order to build more homes.

The scheme, which will bring the largest Picturehouse cinema outside the West End to Ealing, could now see 48 additional homes being built.

Of the 209 new homes, 35 will be available on the Discount Market Sale scheme.

Buyers who would otherwise be priced out of the market can buy a proportion of these properties but pay a monthly service charge, rather than paying rent as they would under a shared ownership scheme.

The £100 million Ealing Filmworks development

The new plans change internal layouts and make minor changes to heights of some buildings as well as removing secondary commercial floorspace on Matlock Lane and Barnes Pikle.

Construction on the development began in December 2016 with the opening date for the Picturehouse cinema still set for 2019.

As well at the eight-screen, 1,045 seat cinema, there will also be a new public square and several restaurants including Vapiano and Planet Organic.

St George, the developer behind the four-acre Dickens Yard development on the other side of New Broadway, have taken possession of Walpole House on Bond Street and Flava's Bar and Grill on Matlock Lane.

They are currently being "soft stripped" and are due for demolition this summer.

The proposed changes were shown to the public at an exhibition in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre on May 20.
