'Not all heroes wear capes' - Off-duty policeman hailed a hero after saving woman's life while walking his dog

The Hammersmith and Fulham officer gave CPR to a woman who had suffered a full cardiac arrest

An off-duty police officer based at Hammersmith and Fulham has been lauded a hero after helping save the life of a woman who collapsed.

The policeman was walking his dog in the Thames Valley area on Wednesday (August 16) when he carried out CPR on an unresponsive woman.

She had suffered a cardiac arrest according to the police, but survived thanks to the quick action of the officer, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Hammersmith and Fulham Police praised the policeman, writing on Twitter: “Always remember, #notallheroeswearcapes”

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Her condition is unknown but Hammersmith and Fulham Police say had survived.

The Metropolitan Police was unable to provide any more information on the incident.
